Reasons to Not Attend
No Promises
I would have to be an ignorant egomaniac to promise you that my program will give you eternal joy and courage. I can give you the best science-backed tools, but only you can ignite joy in your life long-term. What I can promise, is that you'll enjoy the program. It's fun! 4.8 ⭐ (42+)
Intensity
This is not a retreat. You'll be socializing, playing games, and learning for 8 hours each day. You'll get your money's worth! You'll have plenty of rest, but this is a bootcamp. Be aware.
Routines
This is a structured experience. You'll be waking up and exercising with the group, based on your own ability level. You'll be going to bed at the same time every night. This ain't a vacation. My goal is to permanently upgrade your habits.
Communal Living
We are in close proximity. We cook together, learn together, and exercise together. There's lots of free time. But if you don't like living with other people, you may want to reconsider. Past participants say the community element was one of the best parts of their experience.
Silent Periods
In the evening, there's a silent period. There's no talking to help you get ready for the best sleep of your life. This may sound challenging, but so far everyone that has attended has LOVED it. It helps them get the best sleep ever.
About the Instructor
I'm Jacques. As The Party Scientist, I energize rooms. As a Joymaker Prof, I give leaders the charisma and methods to ignite joy wherever they go.
I'm on Earth to empower leaders to step the #### up, captivate the room, and spread the world's greatest antidepressant—JOY! My goal is to empower Joymakers: leaders who radiate social confidence, captivate any crowd, and leave everyone buzzing with joy.
Over 5 years, while working as a festival medic saving intoxicated youth, I discovered my life’s purpose. This sparked a sober partying movement that caught the eye of VICE, Elle, Macleans, and Global News.
Though I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacology degree, I skipped the traditional path. Instead, I teach people how to tap into their body’s natural “feel-good” chemicals through connection, music, and healthy living.
Since 2017, I’ve led thousands of joyful events across 15+ countries, rocking international festival stages and corporate offices like Accenture and LUSH Cosmetics. Today, I continue to host sober parties and happiness workshops in my hometown of Vancouver, Canada, spreading my message of natural, connection-driven joy.

Our Social Contract
Joy Bootcamp: The Human Agreement
(aka: how we keep this magical, weird, and wonderful for everyone)
Hey you.
By joining Joy Bootcamp, you’re stepping into a tiny, intentional universe we’re co-creating together. These aren’t rules to control you—they’re agreements to protect the vibe, the safety, and the depth of the experience.
Read this like a conversation, not a contract.
🌀 Participation (aka: Show Up Like You Mean It)
Joy Bootcamp works because people actually show up.
All activities are technically optional—but presence is not. You’re expected to attend all scheduled sessions and engage with the group experience as designed.
If you repeatedly skip sessions or ignore community agreements, you may be asked to leave. Not as punishment—purely to protect the collective experience.
Life happens. If something real comes up, we’ll meet it with care, communication, and flexibility. Just talk to me.
If you’re looking for a drop-in, low-commitment experience, Joy Bootcamp is not the right experience for you.
🎥 Filming & Cameras (We Got You Covered)
By purchasing this ticket, you consent to being filmed during the event. But don't worry. Only by our professional photographer. No photos or videos are permitted otherwise.
These clips may be used on social media or promotional materials to inspire future Joymakers and share what’s possible when humans play again.
If you’d prefer to be blurred out or not included, just say the word. No drama, no explanations required.
If being on camera in any capacity feels uncomfortable or unacceptable, Joy Bootcamp is not the right container for you.
⏰ Arrival & Commitment (All In, Baby)
Joy Bootcamp is designed as a complete arc—from arrival to closing. Each phase builds on the last.
Please arrive on time and plan to stay for the entire duration of the experience. Late arrivals or early departures disrupt the group rhythm and dilute the container we’re building together.
If you cannot commit to the full experience or repeatedly miss scheduled sessions, you may be asked to leave to protect the group journey.
If you’re unable or unwilling to commit to the full duration, Joy Bootcamp is not the right fit for you.
📵 Smartphone Policy (Yes, This Is a Detox)
Joy Bootcamp is a deliberate break from constant stimulation.
Phones are limited to one hour per day (6:30–7:30pm). Light contact with the outside world is encouraged—it’s good practice. Outside of that window, phones stay away so you can fully engage with your body, the group, and the present moment.
If you need to be online beyond this window for work, logistics, or emotional regulation, you may be asked to leave to protect the depth and cohesion of the experience.
If fully unplugging feels unrealistic or undesirable right now, Joy Bootcamp is not the right experience for you.
🤝 Consent Culture (Clear Yeses Only)
Joy Bootcamp runs on explicit, enthusiastic consent—always.
This means checking in, asking clearly, and respecting a “no” without pushing, persuading, or taking it personally. Consent applies to touch, emotional sharing, space, time, attention, and energy.
If you ignore consent, push boundaries, or make others feel unsafe or pressured, you will be asked to leave. Safety is non-negotiable.
If consent culture feels confusing, annoying, or restrictive, Joy Bootcamp is not the right container for you.
🌙 Circadian Rhythms (Protect the Night)
Rest is part of the program.
After the evening closing routine, the space goes quiet. No late-night socializing, no high-energy conversations, and no disruptions. This protects nervous systems, sleep quality, and the group’s collective rhythm.
If you repeatedly disrupt the nighttime container or ignore silence after closing, you may be asked to leave to protect the group’s rest and recovery.
If you need late-night stimulation or social time to feel okay, Joy Bootcamp is not the right environment for you.
💛 Platonic Intimacy (Connection Without Pressure)
This is a space for non-sexual, platonic connection.
We explore closeness, affection, and human warmth without romantic or sexual pursuit during the event. This creates a safer container for vulnerability, play, and emotional openness.
Romantic or sexual advances toward other participants during the program are not permitted. If this boundary is crossed, you will be asked to leave.
If you’re seeking a flirt-heavy, romantic, or sexually charged environment, Joy Bootcamp is not that.
⚡ Healthy Highs Only (Natural Joy, No Shortcuts)
Joy Bootcamp is about accessing joy through movement, connection, routine, learning, and biology—not substances or artificial highs.
This is a substance-free experience. If you bring in or use substances that interfere with your presence, safety, or participation, you will be asked to leave.
If substance-free experiences feel restrictive or unappealing right now, Joy Bootcamp is not the right container for you.
🏡 Communal Living (It Ain’t a Hotel)
Joy Bootcamp is a shared living experience.
Everyone is expected to participate in the care of the space—cleaning up after yourself, contributing to shared chores, respecting noise levels, and being mindful of how your actions affect others.
This is not a hotel, a resort, or a place where things magically get handled for you. It works because everyone takes responsibility for the environment we’re living in together.
If you consistently avoid communal responsibilities, disregard shared spaces, or create unnecessary friction around household care, you may be asked to leave to protect group harmony.
If you’re looking for a fully serviced, hands-off experience, Joy Bootcamp is not the right living environment for you.
🤫 Confidentiality (Share the Magic, Protect the Humans)
Joy Bootcamp will surface real stories, real emotions, and real breakthroughs—and we honor that depth.
You’re welcome to share your own experience and stories from the week with the outside world as long as they are anonymous. No names, no identifying details, and no “you’d know them if you know them” clues.
If someone explicitly asks for confidentiality around something they share, that story does not leave this container at all—not publicly, not privately, not anonymously. Full stop.
Sharing someone else’s story against their wishes breaks trust. Serious or repeated breaches of this agreement will result in removal from the event.
If protecting others’ privacy feels inconvenient or negotiable, Joy Bootcamp is not the right container for you.
⏳ Present Moment Living (This Is Not Therapy)
Joy Bootcamp is a present-focused experience.
We’re here to build joy, aliveness, and connection in the now—not to process unresolved trauma, deep grief, or long-standing emotional wounds. This is not a therapy space, a trauma-informed container, or a place for intensive emotional processing.
Strong emotions may arise, and you’re welcome to feel what you feel. However, extended trauma-sharing, emotional offloading, or using the group as a therapeutic outlet isn’t appropriate in this environment.
If your emotional needs exceed what this container can safely hold, you may be asked to step back and receive one-on-one support—not as rejection, but to protect the group’s nervous system and collective focus.
If you’re seeking trauma healing, grief processing, or therapeutic support, Joy Bootcamp is not the right fit.
